ENOSHIMA in the 1960s was a unique little village with many local tourists. Americans were a rare sight, but there were some, like myself, who had discovered its charm and became fond of the destination for weekend getaways. It was like a trip back into time. I have written much about my time in Enoshima. One thing I will always remember about Enoshima is the rain. No matter how bright and clear the day was in the morning on our arrival, we could look forward to afternoon showers and then a brilliant and clear sunset. It was a different time, a serene time, a time for romance. I am glad I had the opportunity to spend some of my youth in Enoshima...
